For actor Akshay Nalawade, best known for his role as Garud Dev in Shiv Shakti: Tap Tyaag Tandav, life has taken on a whole new meaning. The actor and his wife welcomed their first child, a baby boy, on August 15.
The arrival was made even more special as it coincided with both Independence Day and the festival of Gokulashtami. Overflowing with joy, Akshay described the experience as nothing short of divine.“Seeing your baby being born, knowing it’s your blood, your creation, is a divine feeling—truly sacred. Words cannot fully capture it. Life changes the moment your baby steps into it. And for us, having our son arrive on both Independence Day and Gokulashtami made it even more special.
I consider it a blessing from Shri Krishna,” he shared. The actor admitted that it took him some time to fully grasp the feeling of fatherhood. The moment left him overwhelmed with emotions. “It took a little time to fully sink in the feeling of becoming a father, and even now, I am still absorbing it. I had tears of happiness, and my entire family felt an immense sense of relief. In that moment, all our worries seemed to vanish with the arrival of our little one,” he revealed.
Though the couple has not finalized a name yet, Akshay said it will carry both depth and modernity. “These days, deciding on a name has become quite a challenge. For now, we are thinking of a name that blends modernity with a strong spiritual connection, as we are deeply rooted in our belief in Krishna. It will reflect our values and beliefs.”When they brought their son home, the family performed an aarti and placed the baby before Shri Krishna in their home temple.
“For us, everything has happened because of Krishna’s blessings,” he added with gratitude.Parenthood, though new, has already reshaped his perspective on life. “In our profession, there are ups and downs and a lot of dedication required. But one thing is clear: no matter what happens, I want my baby to be shielded from negativity or unnecessary distractions. It has already made me conscious of my responsibilities as a dad, and I am committed to protecting him in every possible way.”Akshay was full of praise for his wife, who has been a pillar of strength. “Work will always be secondary to family. While my profession does demand long hours and overtime, my wife is extremely supportive. She manages the baby wonderfully, allowing me to focus on work when required without compromising family time.”Expressing heartfelt gratitude, he also acknowledged the role of his parents and in-laws. “They have been rock-solid throughout this journey, holding our hands with utmost responsibility.
Their support is something I will always be grateful for.”Looking ahead, Akshay is clear about the kind of upbringing he wants for his son. “I want to teach him about our culture, rituals, history, and Sanskriti. It’s important to me that he understands the depth and beauty of our traditions as he grows up.”From being Garud Dev on-screen to embracing fatherhood off-screen, Akshay Nalawade calls this new chapter of life his biggest blessing yet.
