The Shivamogga district administration and the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) committee conducted a cycle jatha and walkathon in the city on Sunday (July 5) to spread awareness about the Special intensive revision (SIR) of the electoral roll.

Government officials and staff took part in the event, which began on the premises of the zilla panchayat office. The objective of the event was to create awareness about the ongoing SIR so that no eligible voter misses the opportunity to vote.

Zilla Panchayat CEO N. Hemanth and Superintendent of Police B. Nikhil flagged off the walkathon. Participants carried placards informing people about the significance of the SIR. Despite the rain, many officers took part in the event enthusiastically.
