Singappen team arrrests four in Sivakasi and Dindigul

Virudhunagar/Dindigul: The Singappen task force in Sivakasi and Dindigul have arrested four men on charges of harassing women in the past two days.According to Sivakasi police, three history-sheeters — Mahendrakumar, 26, Senbagapandi, 25, and Mahendran, 27 — were arrested at AVT Street around 9.30pm on Saturday following reports that they were causing a public nuisance and harassing a woman.

Meanwhile, the Singappen task force in Dindigul detained a male textile worker on Sunday after a 19-year-old woman complained that the accused had behaved in an obscene manner to her when she was heading to a restroom in their unit. The incident took place two days earlier but the woman reported the incident during an awareness session conducted by the Singapenn personnel at the textile establishment on Saturday. Sub-Inspector Muniyammal and her team identified and apprehended the male worker. They handed him over to the Dindigul all-woman police for further investigation.
