HYDERABAD
The Singareni Collieries Company Ltd (SCCL) will sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Industrial Promotion and Investment Corporation of Odisha (IPICOL) here on Thursday (December 18) for setting up 4,900 megawatt capacity thermal and green energy projects in Odisha.
In a statement issued here on Tuesday, the outgoing Chairman and Managing Director of SCCL N. Balram said Singareni would establish a 3×800 MW ultra super critical thermal power project near the Naini coal block in Odisha to generate power using the coal mined there as a captive power plant.
Another 2,500 MW capacity green energy projects planned would comprise 1,000 MW capacity solar power plants and 500 MW each of floating solar power, pumped storage power and wind power plants in Odisha.
