Nashik: The Sinnar police and the anti-human trafficking cell of the Nashik Rural police on Saturday raided a hotel in Sinnar and arrested four people — a hotel staffer and three customers — for running a flesh trade business.The police also booked three people who had forced these women into prostitution.Four women, who were forced into prostitution for financial gain, were also rescued. Among them, three were from Nashik city and one was from Igatpuri.The arrested were nabbed under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act (ITPA) for allowing a premises to be used as a brothel, living on the earnings of prostitution, inducing a person for prostitution, detaining a person in the premises where prostitution is carried out and prostitution in or in the vicinity of public places.The suspects were produced before a court on Sunday, which remanded them to four days of police custody until June 17.A constable of the anti-human trafficking unit, who registered the complaint, said that his senior officer had received a tip-off about a flesh trade operating at a hotel in Sinnar. Subsequently, the Sinnar police were contacted, after which a raid was planned with the help of witnesses and decoy customers.
After the decoy customers entered the hotel and signaled the police team, officers from the Sinnar police station and the anti-human trafficking Unit raided the premises. They rescued the four women and arrested four people who had forced them into the flesh trade for financial gain.
