The first phase of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the voter list comprising of house-to-house surveys, distribution and collection of enumeration forms, and online uploading is currently underway and will continue until July 14.
Addressing media persons on Thursday, Collector Sumit Kumar said that SIR is being conducted with complete transparency across the district. Booth Level Officers (BLOs) are visiting every household to verify voter details.
Individuals wishing to register their names in the voter list can apply using Form-6; Form-7 can be used to delete the names of deceased persons or those who have permanently relocated, while Form-8 is for corrections such as changes to address, age, or name, he said. The draft voter list would be published on July 21.
Equal opportunities would be provided to all political parties in this process, and meetings with their representatives have already been conducted. Measures have also been taken to ensure that Booth Level Agents (BLAs) receive the necessary information.
The process is moving forward while taking into account the suggestions and objections raised by political parties, the Collector said.
