Six-day traffic curbs at old Chalakudy bridge in Thrissur to trigger diversions

Traffic restrictions will come into force along the national highway stretch at Koratty in Thrissur district on Saturday following the closure of the old bridge across the Chalakudy river for urgent repair works and load testing.

The shutdown, which will begin at 9 p.m. on Saturday, will remain in effect for six consecutive days. During this period, all vehicular movement through the old west-side bridge will be completely halted. Vehicles will instead be diverted through the eastern bridge, where traffic will be regulated in a single-lane, two-way system.
