Ketan Agarwal's father alleged that his son may have been targeted over wearing a small hair patch, calling it an unimaginable reason to take someone's life.

The father of Pune businessman Ketan Agarwal, who allegedly died after being pushed off Lohagad Fort, has made a startling claim about the possible motive behind the murder. After meeting Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Friday, Vishal Agarwal demanded death penalty for the accused, Siya Goyal.

Speaking to reporters after the meeting in Pune, Vishal Agrawal urged the state government to ensure the harshest punishment for the accused and claimed that his son may have been targeted over something as trivial as wearing a small hair patch.

“We had already informed them (Siya Goyal’s family) that Ketan used a small patch of wig on his head. Is this a reason to kill someone?" Vishal Agrawal said, questioning the alleged motive behind the crime.

“I have urged the Chief Minister that the accused should at least get the death penalty. The CM assured me that this case will be fast-tracked. I have been told that an SIT has been formed in the case," he said.

The father’s remarks come amid an ongoing investigation into the death of Ketan Agrawal, who was allegedly pushed from Lohagad Fort near Pune on June 18. Police later registered a murder case after uncovering evidence suggesting that the fall may not have been accidental.

According to investigators, the prime accused, Siya Goyal, was allegedly unwilling to marry Ketan Agrawal and was reportedly facing pressure from her family regarding the proposed marriage. Police suspect this may have been a factor in the alleged conspiracy, though the investigation is still underway and authorities have not confirmed a final motive.

Vishal Agrawal also claimed that Siya herself wanted to go on the trek during which the incident occurred.

Maharashtra CM Calls Incident “Beyond Imagination"

Reacting to the case, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis described the alleged murder as “extremely shocking" and said it raises larger questions about society.

“This is an extremely shocking incident, something beyond imagination. It is the kind of incident that compels us, as a society, to seriously reflect. Why do children from educated and well-settled families develop such malicious and destructive thinking? What are the reasons behind this mindset? We need to think deeply about it," Fadnavis said.

He urged people to look beyond the criminal aspect of the case and examine the broader social issues it highlights.

“In reality, this case should not be viewed merely as a crime, but also from a social perspective. Society must consider what kind of environment and system needs to be created so that such cruel and revenge-driven thoughts do not develop in children at such a young age. This incident is truly very shocking," the Chief Minister added.
