Brawl at Jaipur restaurant over reserved seat

JAIPUR: Tension flared at a restaurant in Bhattabasti on Sunday night after a group of youngsters allegedly tried to occupy a reserved seat. When the staff informed them that the table had been booked since morning, an argument broke out which soon escalated into a scuffle.

Other guests panicked as chaos spread inside the restaurant.Manager: Guests threatened to shut down restaurantRestaurant manager Bhagwat Singh said the accused invoked the name of a police officer to intimidate the staff. “They even threatened that if we resisted, they would have the entire restaurant shut down,” he said, adding that the dispute stemmed only from the attempt to sit at a reserved seat. The entire incident has been captured on CCTV.Police officer denies linksBhattabasti police station officer Hariom Singh, when contacted, initially said he was in a meeting. Later, he clarified that he had no connection with those involved in the ruckus. “I don’t even know them,” he said. Police are now probing the matter and examining CCTV footage.
