Sofia Vergara skips Emmy Awards due to THIS emergency; actress says, 'Sorry I had to cancel'

Sofia Vergara, the ‘Modern Family’ actress, was scheduled to present the award for Best Lead Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie at the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards. However, at the last minute, she had to skip the prestigious award to go to the emergency room due to a medical issue.

Sofia Vergara skipped the Emmys

In an Instagram post shared by the star, Vergara confirmed that she had “craziest eye [allergy] right before getting in the car." The post was attached with an image of a swollen right eye, along with a video of her lying in a hospital bed while groaning in pain. Moreover, she shared a clip of her washing her eye under tap water as well. “Didn't make it to the Emmys but made it to the ER,” she said in the caption, before adding, “Sorry I had to cancel! Craziest eye allergy right before getting in the car!”Although she was not nominated for any awards, she was scheduled to present one at the ceremony. Eventually, ‘The Hunting Wives’ actresses Brittany Snow and Malin Åkerman presented the award to the winner of the category, who was none other than ‘Adolescence’ star Stephen Graham.

He became the youngest Emmy winner in history. Sofia Vergara has been previously nominated for Emmys for her outstanding performances in the sitcom ‘Modern Family’ and the crime drama ‘Griselda.’ However, she has never won an award.
