Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's lavish Madison Square Garden wedding continues to dominate headlines, but this time, it's not because of the guest list or the vows. Instead, Swifties are buzzing over an eBay listing that claims to be selling a monogrammed handkerchief from the couple's wedding.
While some fans were quick to call out the seller for allegedly profiting from a private celebration, many others aren't convinced the listing is even authentic.
An eBay listing claiming to sell a Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce wedding handkerchief quickly went viral
The latest controversy began after a fan account shared screenshots of an eBay listing advertising a "White Lace-Edged Lace Embroidered Monogram T&T Wedding Handkerchief." The item, listed for $99 or Best Offer, features a white lace handkerchief embroidered with a "T&T" monogram.
The fan account accused the seller of being an "undeserving invitee" attempting to cash in on a wedding keepsake, and, if true, it was a fair accusation. However, there's one major catch that there is no independent confirmation that the handkerchief actually came from Swift and Kelce's wedding. The claim comes solely from the seller's listing, leaving many fans questioning whether it's genuine.
Swifties questioned whether the listing is authentic or not
Rather than immediately believing the listing, many fans expressed skepticism.
One user suspected the listing could simply be a scam, writing, "Someone probably stole the picture and is trying to scam fans. I don’t think this would be real. $99 is like giving it away."Another fan pointed out what they believed was an inconsistency in the listing photos, commenting, "The lace around the edges is different between the 2 photos."Others clarified that the advertised price may not reflect the seller's actual expectations. One user explained, "This is an ad and you know it. Also for people confused, $99 is the starting bid price, best offer means they might accept a far higher number."Some fans also urged people not to assume the seller was a wedding guest at all."lol it’s probably someone who worked the event and found it on the floor, relax," one person suggested.Another guessed the keepsake may have changed hands after the wedding, writing, "Gonna guess this is someone (a niece, nephew, etc.) who was given it by an attendee because they know they're a huge fan - and now they're selling it."One Swiftie admitted their opinion changed after thinking about the situation a little more."My first thought is omg how dare they?! Like… that’s awful. But I wonder if maybe someone accidentally left it in their hotel room or dropped it leaving the venue? That’s if it’s even fr authentic."For now, the listing has sparked plenty of discussion, but without verification that the handkerchief actually came from Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's wedding, fans remain divided over whether it's a genuine souvenir, a misunderstanding, or simply another viral internet mystery.
