The Haryana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has arrested a woman patwari from the Panchayat Department in Kharkhoda for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 20,000. The action followed a complaint lodged by Anil, a resident of Sisana village.

Allegation Of Bribe For Land Ownership

According to the complaint, patwari Sudesh was demanding Rs 20,000 in exchange for granting ownership rights over Panchayat land. Taking the matter seriously, the Vigilance team from Rohtak conducted a preliminary inquiry.

After verifying the allegations, officials laid a trap to catch the accused.

Trap Laid Inside BDPO Office

As per the plan, the bribe amount was handed over to Krishna, a tea seller, inside the BDPO office, where the transaction was scheduled to take place. Immediately after the money was exchanged, the Vigilance team, which was already present at the location, acted swiftly and apprehended patwari Sudesh.

Investigators revealed that Sudesh allegedly used the tea seller to receive and hold the bribe money in an attempt to avoid direct involvement. However, the Anti-Corruption Bureau eventually caught her in the operation.

Investigation Underway

Following the arrest, officials have launched a detailed investigation into all aspects of the case. The team is examining related records and official documents to determine whether others may have been involved in similar activities.

The action has reportedly caused a stir in government offices across the area.

Official Statement

ACB DSP Vipin Kadian stated that the bureau received a complaint alleging that block patwari Sudesh Kumari was demanding Rs 20,000 for registry-related work. Her assistant, identified as tea seller Ishwar, was caught red-handed during the operation.

Authorities are now conducting a thorough probe, including scrutiny of Sudesh Kumari’s official records.
