The three-day SPARC international symposium organised by the Amrita School of Biotechnology in collaboration with IIT Kanpur and The University of Melbourne will conclude on the Amritapuri campus on Wednesday. The symposium is organised as part of the Ministry of Education’s Scheme for Promotion of Academic and Research Collaboration (SPARC), which aims to enhance research excellence by collaborating with prominent international universities.
Swami Amritaswarupananda Puri, president of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, delivered the benedictory address at the inauguration of the three-day symposium. Rabibrata Mukherjee, Professor at the Department of Chemical Engineering, IIT Kharagpur; Sandeep Verma, Professor at the Department of Chemistry, IIT Kanpur; and Richard Strugnell, Professor at the Department of Microbiology and Immunology, University of Melbourne, were the guests of honour.
More than 30 experts from various institutions, including the University of Melbourne, different IITs, and Delhi University, are participating in the symposium, which consists of six sessions. Poster presentations and lecture series will also be held at Amritapuri as part of the symposium.
