Specially abled teen reunited with parents

New Delhi: Two years after a specially abled and speech-impaired teenager went missing in northwest Delhi’s Adarsh Nagar, he was traced to an ashram for the homeless in Bawana’s Pooth Khurd.

He is one of the six missing people traced by Delhi Police, including two minors and an unidentified body.According to police, the Azad Pur resident was reported missing on Jan 9, 2024, at Adarsh Nagar police station. He was 19 at that time. Police said that he was found on Jan 17, 2024, near the Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital. Due to his inability to inform officers of his identity or address, he was admitted to the ashram by the cops for care and rehabilitation.Police recently received a photo of him, now a 21-year-old, from the ashram. After matching the photograph with that of the missing person, his father was taken to the facility, where he identified his son Tuesday.In another case, an 11-year-old boy was found at a children’s home in Govind Puram, Ghaziabad. Investigation revealed that the Delhi boy had gone missing last week on July 1, while playing outside his house and was traced three days later in Ghaziabad.

While a 14-year-old girl who went missing on July 1 from Seema Puri was traced after police found that she had decided to go and visit a friend in Ghaziabad along with another female friend of hers.Two girls, both aged 18 years and nine months, were traced and reunited with their families in two separate cases. An unidentified dead body was traced and identified as one Amar Deep, who had gone missing from Sarai Rohilla in Jan. His body was found in Bharat Nagar in March.
