Speeding car rams auto, driver flees as angry crowd vandalises vehicle

Indore: A violent aftermath followed a road accident in Indore’s Bhagirathpura area on Sunday after a speeding car crashed into an auto rickshaw on MR-4 Road, injuring the driver and prompting angry bystanders to allegedly pelt stones at the car.The car driver fled the scene immediately after the collision, abandoning the vehicle.The accident occurred within the Banganga police station limits when auto driver Vishal Bhagwat was ferrying three passengers. Police said the speeding car rammed into the auto with considerable force, leaving its front portion badly mangled. Vishal sustained injuries in the collision, while the passengers also suffered injuries and later sought treatment at a hospital.By the time police reached the spot, an agitated crowd had allegedly vandalised the abandoned car. A First Response Vehicle (FRV) shifted the injured auto driver to a private hospital for treatment.Police have seized both the damaged vehicles and registered the case.
