A man was killed and three others were injured after a speeding SUV rammed multiple vehicles in Dehradun on Wednesday evening, police said.

The incident took place around 7:30 pm in the Dalanwala area. The vehicle involved was a Toyota Innova, driven by Guneet Singh, 43, a resident of Inder Road.

According to police, the driver was coming at high speed from the DL Cut and driving recklessly. He first hit a car on DL Road, damaging it. The SUV then sped ahead and crashed into a scooty and a motorcycle.

Three people were seriously injured in the collision. They were identified as Rahul, a resident of Ambedkar Nagar, and Rohit Phillips, 48, along with his 22-year-old son Anuj Phillips, residents of Old Survey Road.

Police rushed Rahul to Vaish Nursing Home. After initial treatment, he was referred to Max Hospital by ambulance. Rohit and Anuj were taken to Doon Hospital in a private vehicle.

Rohit Phillips later died during treatment, police said.

The SUV also hit a parked motorcycle and a scooty on the roadside, damaging both. The vehicle then veered off towards Old Survey Road, crashed through the gate of a house, and entered the premises.

Inside the house, another scooty and a car were damaged.

Police have seized the vehicle and taken the driver into custody. A case has been registered, and further investigation is underway.
