‘Spider-Man’ star Tobey Maguire seen with influencer 30 years younger at Super Bow: 'Only a year older than his daughter' claim netizens

The Super Bowl LX held at the Levi's Stadium in California on Sunday gave the entertainment world and viewers much to talk about. From celebrity relationships to political statements, there is enough gossip fodder to last till the next big event, possibly the Oscars.

Now, a clip from the game which ended with the Seattle Seahawks defeating the New England Patriots by 29-13 has gone viral. What does it feature? A shocking couple, 'Spiderman' actor Tobey Maguire and social media influencer Mishka Silva. The 50-year-old actor can be seen happily chitchatting with the 20-year-old influencer and the clip of them together has numerous online netizens and age-gap haters grasping their necklaces in shock.

Silva is almost 30 years younger than the 'Babylon' actor and was spotted sitting in a VIP box with the actor. They were sitting there with other stars to watch the game and the much-talked-about Bad Bunny's halftime show, which featured guest stars Lady Gaga and Ricky Martin. The model took to Instagram to share a story of herself with her legs crossed and crossing over into Maguire's personal space where his black Nikes are visible.

While she donned a pair of baggy jeans, a white top and heels, Maguire donned an all-black fit with a black button-up, dark pants and a cap on top.In some of the photos going viral on the internet, Silva can be seen running her hands through her hair beaming at something Maguire is saying, as he is also grinning ear to ear.

Previous marriages and dates

Maguire, 50, was previously married to jewellery designer Jennifer Meyer, 48. However, the two got separated back in 2016 and share two children- 19-year-old daughter Ruby and 15-year-old son Otis.

Despite the separation, the two remain close friends and co-parents to date. The actor's last movie was 'Babylon' released in 2022, for which he also served as an executive producer. As for Silva, she is a social media influencer who creates fashion and lifestyle content.

Social media backlash

Celebrities and influential figures have long faced backlash for dating people years younger than them. So much so, that the only thing some Gen-Z know about actor Leonardo DiCaprio is that he dates girls younger than him. Thus, the spotting of the actor with a model three decades younger than him and only a year older than his own daughter had many condemning their rumoured relationship on social media. "She wasn’t even born when Spider-Man 2 came out man" an X user pointed out.But many also pointed out how the age gap is a problem only when the man is older than the woman. Madonna, Cher and many other female celebrities are dating men about three decades younger than they are and yet face no social media flak.

Rather, people appreciate them finding love in life no matter with whom and of what age.

The era of age-gaps

From X-owner Elon Musk to former Google CEO Eric Schmidt, many whos and whos of the world are in age-gap relationships. Musk, 53, has been spotted out with his partner Shivon Zilis who is 15 years younger than him. While the two are not married, they share four children together. Schmidt was recently spotted out with German model Sophie Burkandt in Davos and the two have a 43-year age gap between them, along with the fact that the man has been married to his wife for almost the same amount of time. While neither Maguire nor Silva has confirmed their relationship, there is nothing extremely surprising with the rumour of them being together, even if true. It might as well be fans not liking Spiderman's new choice of his Mary Jane or feeling hurt over not having known the cast before.
