Spurned lover kills woman on way to cafe

Kolkata: A 28-year-old woman, Rinku Das, was allegedly killed by her boyfriend, Kutubuddin Dafadar, in Ashoknagar, North 24-Parganas.Police said the two had an argument while going to a café. The argument turned violent, and Kutubuddin allegedly strangled Rinku with her scarf.

He then allegedly dumped her body in a shallow waterbody near the café and fled.Rinku’s body was found on Monday beside a café in Tajpur under Guma-II Gram Panchayat. Police identified her within 24 hours.Investigators said Rinku and Kutubuddin had been in a relationship for seven to eight years. Rinku was married but had been living separately from her husband in a rented house in Ashoknagar.Police arrested Kutubuddin on Tuesday. They are investigating the exact motive and the nature of their relationship.
