Dehradun: Swami Rama Himalayan University (SRHU), Jolly Grant, has secured a significant place on the global higher education map by earning a position in the 201-300 global rank band in the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings 2026.
The prestigious rankings assess universities worldwide on their contribution towards the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).The latest edition of the rankings evaluated more than 1,600 universities from across the world. SRHU’s performance across multiple indicators placed it among the leading institutions globally, bringing recognition not only to the university but also to the country’s growing presence in international higher education.SRHU recorded particularly impressive performances in several SDG categories. The university achieved a global rank of 89 in SDG 6 (clean water and sanitation). It was placed in the 201–300 global rank band for SDG 3 (good health and well-being) and SDG 7 (affordable and clean energy). The university also secured a position in the 101–200 global rank band for SDG 12 (responsible consumption and production) and the 201–300 band for SDG 17 (partnerships for the goals).
In SDG 9 (industry, innovation and infrastructure), SRHU was ranked in the 401–600 global band.Expressing happiness over the achievement, Dr Vijay Dhasmana, president, SRHU, said the recognition reflects the collective efforts of the university community and its commitment to excellence.“This global recognition is a proud moment for the entire SRHU family. The university has earned several recognitions through national assessment frameworks, including an A+ Grade accreditation, underscoring its focus on academic quality and institutional development.The university’s initiatives in rural healthcare, public awareness, research and outreach programmes continue to benefit communities. These efforts have strengthened SRHU’s reputation as an institution that combines academic excellence with a strong sense of social purpose.The achievement has been welcomed by faculty members, researchers, students and staff, who view it as another milestone in SRHU’s journey towards greater global visibility.
