St Xavier’s dominates CISCE kabaddi championship, qualifies for regional competition

Patna: St Xavier’s High School emerged as the undisputed champion, sweeping all categories at the CISCE Patna Zone Kabaddi Championship 2026, hosted by International School Patna.

The Under-14 and Under-17 categories (boys and girls) were held on April 24, while the Under-19 category (boys) took place on April 25.

The teams displayed agility, coordination and teamwork, delivering competitive performances marked by sportsmanship.St Xavier’s teams secured victories in U-14 boys, U-17 boys, U-19 boys and U-17 girls, earning certificates and medals. The winning teams will represent the Patna Zone at the Bihar-Jharkhand regional-level competition. Farhat Hasan, principal-director of International School Patna, said, “It is truly inspiring to witness such energy, dedication and sportsmanship among our young players. Kabaddi strengthens physical endurance and builds resilience and team spirit.

We are honoured to host this event.”Inter-school Literary Festival: Litera Valley School clinched the overall winner title at the inter-school literary festival ‘LUMINARIA 2026’, organised by Delhi Public School (Patna East). The two-day event, themed ‘An Ode to the Magic of Words’, brought together students from several schools in Patna and provided a platform for expression and creativity through competitions. Events included TED Talk, Character Impersonation, Comic Strips, Story Reading and Review, Choral Recitation, Voice Drama, Hindi Poetry Recitation, Sanskrit Shloka Chanting, Hindi Speech, Skit with a Twist and Quiz.

In the quiz competition, Radiant International School secured first place, followed by DPS East, Litera Valley School in second and International School in third. The festival concluded with a cultural programme and prize distribution ceremony. DPS East finished as runner-up. The school management highlighted the role of such events in promoting holistic development and interest in literature.St Michael’s High School: At St Michael’s High School, the School Alumni Association launched its Presidential Initiative for 2026-2028 with the event “Honouring Merit: Felicitation of Class X Toppers” during the morning assembly.

The initiative, based on the theme “Transforming Gratitude into Legacy,” aims to promote excellence and strengthen alumni ties. Students were honoured with Certificates of Excellence and gold medals. The awardees included Abhishek Mishra (98.2%), Ekansh Shrisay (97.2%), Aishwarya Anmol (97%) and Divyansh Raj (97%).Dr Vikas Shankar, president of the alumni association, said success involves achievement along with character and resilience.

Principal Fr A Christu Savarirajan SJ appreciated the alumni’s efforts. Dr Manish Mandal and Rohit Singh highlighted the initiative’s role in inspiring students.Baldwin Academy: Baldwin Academy organised a felicitation ceremony to honour students scoring above 90% in the CBSE Class 10 board examinations 2026. Students were presented with mementoes. The event was attended by chief guest Ajit Sinha, senior deputy director, power department, along with principal Rajiv Ranjan Sinha and secretary Prabhas Kumar.Ajit Sinha encouraged students to maintain dedication in future. Vice principal Insha Rehman and Baldwin Sophia’s principal Alpana Daftwar were also present and extended their support to the students.
