Premier League table-toppers Arsenal had to share the spoils at Stamford Bridge on Sunday in a high-stakes encounter against Chelsea as the Londoners played out a 1-1 stalemate.
Chelsea, who were down to 10 men following Moises Caicedo’s first half red, went ahead through Trevoh Chalobah in the 48th minute of the game before Mikel Merino pulled the Gunners back on level terms with his 59th-minute strike.
Mikel Arteta’s Gunners have 30 points in 13 outings, five points over second-placed Manchester City and six over third-placed Chelsea.
Earlier in the day, Liverpool returned to winning form with a victory at West Ham, as Arne Slot’s Reds ended a run of three defeats. Alexandre Isak and Cody Gakpo scored against the Hammers, with Isak netting his first goal for Liverpool since his record transfer from Newcastle United. The Premier League holders secured three points away from home.
Manchester United overcame a goal deficit to secure a 2-1 victory against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Sunday in the Premier League. Jean-Philippe Mateta initially put the London side ahead with a first-half penalty, but Joshua Zirkzee equalised before Mason Mount’s ingenuity helped Ruben Amorim’s squad climb to sixth place in the English top flight.
Bruno Fernandes provided the assists for both of United’s goals, taking his Premier League assists record to 56, surpassing the legendary United midfielder Paul Scholes. Fernandes is now behind only Ryan Giggs, Wayne Rooney, and David Beckham in the club’s assist record books.
