State Sugarcane Cultivators Association warns against fake donation drive

The State Sugarcane Cultivators Association has said that donations are being collected in its name on the pretext of celebrating national events and other such programmes by certain groups.

In a release, the Association’s general secretary, Atahalli Devaraj, said that it has come to his notice that funds are being collected from officials in government offices, private organisations, and institutions, apart from politicians and others.

Mr. Devaraj said that the Association does not collect donations from anyone and if the need arises, the amount is pooled from fellow members. He cautioned the public against entertaining such requests.
