When Smith listed out his picks in front of the 5-time NBA Champion and legendary former point guard of the Los Angeles Lakers, it was no less than an exciting show. Whom did Smith pick as his top 5? Was Johnson present on the list? Here are all the details.

The 3-time NBA Championship MVP Magic Johnson recently appeared on the show “First Take” by ESPN. The show is hosted by one of the most popular sports journalist, Stephen A Smith.

While both icons discussed various things related to basketball and the ongoing NBA Finals, there was one thing that stood out from the entire conversation: the top 5 point guard list by Smith.

Smith went ahead and listed out his No. 5 pick which is none other than the Spurs’ point guard Chris Paul who, according to the journalist, “Led the league in assists on several occasions,” and is a true leader. He picked Jason Kidd as his No.

4 pick. Though Kidd is currently the head coach of the Dallas Mavericks, he was a former point guard for the same team and had led the Mavericks to win the 2011 NBA Championship.Smith’s No. 3 and No. 2 pick were Isiah Thomas and Stephen Curry. For Thomas, Smith commented that he is “the greatest little guard in the history of basketball... A two-time champion, a national champion. The brother is something special. He was Kyrie before Kyrie.”

Coming to Curry, the reason Smith placed him in the second position is because, “The greatest shooter God has ever seen.” He went ahead to praise Curry’s ball-handling skills and his on-court mindset. Smith’s top pick was none other than the legend Magic Johnson himself, who was present on the show.Smith praised the 3-time MVP by saying, “When you're talking about point guards, you're talking about facilitators. You're talking about guys that set others up. You're talking about guys that make the other people around them so much better than what they really are. Who did that better than the magic man?”Smith’s list was the talk of the entire show and the way he presented it was quite humorous.
