Steps initiated for emergency drinking water supply in Kannur Corporation

The Kannur Corporation Council has decided to take urgent steps to ensure drinking water supply in drought-hit areas. Tender proceedings have been initiated for the purpose.

Mayor P. Indira said councillors should take the lead in coordinating drinking water supply and report areas facing acute shortage. The move comes amid numerous complaints over irregular water supply through pipelines managed by the Kerala Water Authority. The Mayor said discussions would be held with the KWA to address the crisis.
