Steven Spielberg’s ‘Disclosure Day’ cleared by CBFC at the last minute with muting of ‘s*x’ and 'f**k' for U/A 13+ rating

Steven Spielberg's 'Disclosure Day' received a U/A 13+ certificate from the CBFC after the words 's*x' and 'f**k' were muted. The film has a runtime of 145 minutes and 36 seconds. It opened at 27.6 million USD worldwide and collected between Rs 1.75 crores and Rs 2 crores in India on its opening day.

The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) gave a clean pass to three important films of the week without demanding a single cut. The films that sailed through without any changes were ‘Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata’, ‘Haunted – Echoes Of The Past’ and ‘Backrooms’.

However, the fourth film of the week, ‘Disclosure Day’, did not have it as easy. The film received its censor certificate at the very last minute and had to undergo a few cuts before receiving the green light. This was reported on June 10.

CBFC mutes the word 's*x' in 'Disclosure Day'

According to a report by Bollywood Hungama, the CBFC made a specific change in a dialogue from the film's first act, muting the word 's*x'. The scene in question features Daniel Kellner, played by Josh O'Connor, who finds out that his girlfriend Jane, portrayed by Eve Hewson, was once a nun. When Daniel asks her whether she still follows the same religious vows and commitments, Jane responds by saying no, pointing out that the two of them have already had s*x.

Precisely at this moment in the dialogue, the CBFC stepped in and made the cut.

As per the details mentioned on the censor certificate, the total runtime of the film is 145 minutes and 36 seconds, which translates to 2 hours, 25 minutes and 36 seconds.

With its censor certificate now in place, the film is all set to make its way to the audiences.
