BARAMATI: STIHL India organized the ‘Kisan Samman’ initiative at Krishi Vigyan Kendra Baramati to recognize progressive farmers and promote farm mechanization through technology-driven solutions. The program honoured farmers who have demonstrated innovation, leadership, sustainable practices and excellence in modern agriculture.

The event brought together farmers, agricultural scientists, industry representatives and key stakeholders from the farming ecosystem. It was attended by Parind Prabhu Desai, Managing Director, STIHL India; Shobhit Bahel, Director–Marketing; Pradumn Chaturvedi, Trade Marketing Manager, STIHL India; and Rajendra Pawar, Chairman of Agriculture Development Trust, along with senior officials and scientists from KVK Baramati.

Addressing the gathering, Desai said farm mechanization is essential to meet the growing demand for food production while tackling challenges such as labour shortages and operational efficiency. He noted that STIHL India aims to empower farmers by providing advanced, safe and efficient equipment that can enhance productivity and profitability at the grassroots level.

Under the ‘Kisan Samman’ initiative, farmers who have successfully adopted modern agricultural practices and mechanized solutions were felicitated. The awardees shared their experiences and success stories, encouraging other farmers to adopt modern farming technologies.

On the occasion, STIHL India also flagged off the nationwide ‘Parivartan Yatra’, an awareness and outreach initiative aimed at promoting agricultural mechanization across the country. The yatra will connect with 100 Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) across India and will feature live product demonstrations, interactive farmer sessions and technical education programmes focused on safe and efficient machine usage.

Through the Parivartan Yatra, the company aims to bridge the gap between traditional farming practices and modern agricultural innovation while promoting knowledge sharing and wider adoption of advanced farm equipment.
