India’s oldest English theatre group, The Madras Players, will be premiering their new play, Minor Disturbances At Grand Life Apartments this weekend. Directed by Nikhila Kesavan, the play will be staged from today until June 28 at 7.15pm at the Museum Theatre, Egmore.Speaking about the production, Nikhila says, “This is an original stage adaptation of Hema Sukumar’s novel. Set in presentday Chennai, the story revolves around the residents of Grand Life Apartments, each grappling with personal aspirations, disappointments and lifechanging decisions.”Describing the essence of the play, she adds, “The play examines familiar relationships through a reflective lens, presenting a quiet and heartwarming tale of love, hope and belonging.”'The production features a blend of seasoned performers and emerging talent. “Anu Bhaskararaman, Anuradha Rao, Bhavya Balantrapu, Faheem Moosa, Janaki Srinivasan, Juni Srinivasan, Smrithi Parameswar and Venkataraghavan bring alive the endearing characters that make Hema Sukumar’s novel such a refreshing read,” she concludes.
