CM Yogi urged people to stay alert and verify the identity of anyone they employ for domestic or business work.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has issued a strong warning to residents about the need for greater vigilance and security. He said that strict action has already been taken against Rohingya and Bangladeshi infiltrators found living illegally in the state.
In a post on X, the Chief Minister said that the safety of Uttar Pradesh, social harmony, and maintaining law and order remain the government’s top priorities. He urged people to stay alert and verify the identity of anyone they employ for domestic or business work.
“The security of Uttar Pradesh, social harmony, and robust law and order are our utmost priority. Strict and decisive action has been initiated against Rohingya and Bangladeshi infiltrators illegally residing in the state. I appeal to the vigilant public of the state to remain alert and ensure the identity verification of any individual before employing them," his post read.
He added that the security of the state is a shared responsibility, stressing that prosperity can only grow when safety is ensured.
According to earlier government surveys from 2018, around 1,000-1,080 Rohingya refugees live across Delhi NCR, mostly in makeshift settlements in areas like Madanpur Khadar, Kalindi Kunj, Shaheen Bagh, Vikaspuri, Yamuna Bazaar, Bhalswa Dairy and Sonia Vihar.
Older estimates suggest that the combined number of illegal Bangladeshi migrants and Rohingya in Delhi could be as high as 500,000, with many living in pockets such as Jahangirpuri, Seemapuri, Ali Village, Dayal Basti and Najafgarh. After COVID-19, the number of arrests dropped, even though earlier special cells had caught thousands.
Authorities consider the rising numbers a security concern, especially after incidents such as the 2020 riots and the 2022 Jahangirpuri violence, where some individuals from these groups were reportedly involved. India has expelled many in recent months, maintaining that Rohingya are not recognised as refugees, even though about 40,000 live across the country.
Delhi Police, which set up a special Bangladeshi cell in 2003, continues to monitor such cases closely.
