Chittoor Additional Superintendent of Police S.R. Rajasekhar Raju on Thursday cautioned students to stay away from drugs and focus on studies and career.
Addressing students after inaugurating the ‘Selesta 2K26 Musical and Youth Festival’ at Sri Venkateswara College of Engineering and Technology (SVCET) here, the Additional SP said substance abuse could affect students’ health, education, and prospects. He urged them to maintain discipline and contribute to a safe academic environment.
“Students should also focus on adhering to the road safety norms, such as wearing helmets and avoiding rash driving and overspeeding. You are the best ambassadors of road safety promotion,” he told the students.
The Selesta 2K26 saw the participation of over 1,000 students, followed by cultural events, music performances, and student interactions. Prizes and mementoes were distributed to the students who secured ranks in academics, performed the best in sports and games, and participated in cultural activities at the State and national levels.
A live performance by Punjabi drum artists remained a highlight of the event. Telugu film actors Neha Shetty and Goutham Krishna attended the event and interacted with students.
