'Su From So', the Kannada blockbuster comedy written and directed by JP Thuminad and produced by actor-filmmaker Raj B Shetty, finally arrived on OTT on September 9.
The film, still running in select theatres in its 7th weekend, had been one of the most searched titles even before its streaming launch.
With its OTT release, the buzz only intensified—but the reactions have turned out to be split down the middle.
Fans praise 'Su From So's humor and heart
Several viewers couldn’t stop raving about the situational comedy and quirky character sketches. One user wrote, “Thanks to Shetty film haters who kept saying #SuFromSo is overrated and overhyped, because of them, I watched with low expectations and ended up enjoying and laughing all through the movie!”

Another praised it as a frontrunner of the year, saying,“Best one of this year so far for me.
Do hype this movie guys. It deserves. If promoted well it will do wonders than #SuFromSo at Box office..”
Others kept it simple and direct, “Recent times lo best comedy entertainer movie.”The Malayalam dubbed version also found love from audiences, “It’s a pure situational comedy movie that had me laughing out loud. The Malayalam dubbing was fantastic, didn’t even feel like a Kannada movie!”
Not everyone is convinced with Raj B Shetty's film
While the comedy struck gold for many, some viewers strongly disagreed.
A critical tweet read,“#SuFromSo It is unbearable, bizarre & humorless. It might be relatable to coastal audience but definitely not enjoyable. There is no plot in the 1st half. If people insist that u should have a good mood/ it is enjoyable as community viewing, it is drawback of the film.”Still, others found a middle ground, praising the cast and presentation, “True to its roots with whacky characters, #SuFromSo on @JioHotstar is a family funtertainer. Ravi Anna, Ashoka & Bhanu impress. Raj B Shetty as swamiji crackles with his presence. Rest of the cast elevate it. Worth the hype, great msg & music too.”In conclusion, 'Su From So' has achieved what few comedies do—spark passionate debates, even though some mixed reviews are pouring in.
