A Sub-Inspector posted at the Gandhi Nagar police station was caught red-handed while accepting a ₹50,000 bribe by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) in Hyderabad on Tuesday (June 23, 2026).
The accused officer, identified as V. Narsimhulu, was trapped by the ACB City Range-I officials at around 5:30 p.m. after he demanded ₹1 lakh in return for issuing station bail and ensuring that the complainant would not face further harassment in connection with the case, according to the ACB.
During the operation, the agency recovered the tainted ₹50,000 from the possession of the accused officer at his instance. He was arrested and produced before the special court for SPE and ACB cases in Nampally for judicial remand.
The case is under investigation. The identity of the complainant has been withheld for security reasons.
