The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has launched a statewide outreach programme in West Bengal to prepare its manifesto for the upcoming assembly elections, branding the exercise as a “Janta Ka Manifesto". The campaign, titled Bikosito Paschim Banga Sankalp Patra – Paramarsha Sangraha Abhiyan, aims to collect public suggestions, feedback, and grievances directly from citizens across districts, towns, and villages.

Speaking with News18, Tapas Roy, a senior member of the BJP’s manifesto committee, said the document would be shaped through extensive public participation. “The manifesto will be prepared through on-ground interactions, aspiration collection boxes (Akanksha Sangraha Baksho), a dedicated phone number, emails, QR codes and social media platforms. BJP workers will visit every booth and household to engage with residents. This will be a manifesto based entirely on people’s suggestions," the leader said.

The party indicated that employment generation, transparency in governance, corruption, and migration of workers are emerging as key public concerns. The outreach coincides with the BJP’s release of constituency-wise chargesheets highlighting alleged governance and administrative issues, with plans to cover all assembly segments by the end of February.

As part of the exercise, the BJP is also conducting a public opinion survey. Mobile vans will travel area by area, constituency-wise, allowing members of the public to directly convey their demands and concerns. The party said it would seek to understand even the smallest local issues from residents.

In addition to broader issues such as law and order, women’s safety, employment, and industrial development, constituency-specific demands will also be collected. According to BJP sources, these inputs will be incorporated into the party’s resolutions and election manifesto.
