Vijayawada: The medical and health department on Thursday appointed superintendents to five government general hospitals (GGHs) on full additional charge (FAC) basis. According to orders issued by director of medical education (DME) Dr A Vishnuvardhan, five senior faculty members have been placed in FAC to the posts of the superintendents have been appointed to Guntur, Kadapa, Eluru, Pulivendula and Madanapalli GGHs.According to the DME order, the radiation oncology professor Dr G Durga Prasad of Guntur Government Medical College (GMC) has been appointed as Guntur GGH superintendent. Additionally, general medicine professor Dr KB Yadavendra Reddy of GMC Kadapa, has been given FAC as Kadapa GGH superintendent of GGH, with effect from July 1, 2026. Anatomy professor Dr G Symala of GMC Eluru has been appointed as Eluru GGH superintendent.
Subsequently, obstetrics and gynaecology assistant professor Dr G Lakshmisha Kantha of Pulivendula GMC has been appointed as Pulivendula GGH superintendent. Further, pediatrics associate professor Dr Sk Masoor Ahmed of Madanapalli GMC has been appointed as Madanapalli GGH superintendent.The DME stated that the arrangements were made in view of administrative requirements, representations received from the concerned institutions, and other service-related developments. The officers have been directed to assume charge through their respective principals and ensure compliance with the orders.
