Fresh off his US Open victory on Sunday, 22-year-old tennis star Carlos Alcaraz has shocked fans with another dramatic hair transformation. After sporting a buzz cut at the start of the tournament due to a haircut mishap by his brother, the Spanish champion has now gone platinum blond, sparking mixed reactions across social media. The World No. 1's hair journey began before the US Open when his brother Alvaro's clipper accident forced him to shave his head completely. The unexpected buzz cut proved lucky as Alcaraz went on to win his sixth major title, defeating Jannik Sinner in four sets in the final. On Tuesday, Alcaraz teased his followers with an Instagram post showing his head wrapped in foil. His barber, Victor (@victorbarbers5), later revealed the tennis star's new platinum blond look, complete with shaved sides.

"I felt like my hair was really long already. And before the tournament I said that I really want to get a haircut," Alcaraz explained about the initial buzz cut. "Suddenly my brother just misunderstood with the machine. He just cut it and the only way to fix it is just to shave it off."
The new blond look hasn't exactly won over fans. Social media erupted with comments, including "WHAT ARE WE DOING" and "Victor, you'll pay for your crime one day."

Even fellow player Frances Tiafoe called his previous buzz cut "terrible" and "horrendous."Alcaraz has maintained a good sense of humour about the situation. "Frances is lying, Frances is lying," he said. "I know he likes the haircut. He told me. So no, not hear anything about coming from his mouth."The young champion remained unfazed by the reactions. "Some people like it. Some people don't like it," he said. "I'm just laughing about the reaction of the people. I can't do anything else right now, so I'm just laughing about everything that they are [saying] about my haircut."
