Suspension of IPS officer Vishal Gunni extended

The State government has extended the suspension of IPS officer Vishal Gunni, who is facing a criminal case for allegedly failing to properly supervise the investigation into a case registered by the Ibrahimpatnam police against Mumbai actress Kadambari Jethwani in 2024.

Mr. Gunni’s suspension has been extended till September 4, 2026, with the government citing the possibility of the officer tampering with evidence and influencing the course of the investigation. Orders to this effect were issued on Friday, directing the Director General of Police (DGP-HoPF) to take necessary action in the matter.
