Prompt and coordinated action by the Railway Police attached to Solapur Division of Central Railway led to the successful recovery of a gold chain accidentally lost by a woman passenger during a train journey on Friday.
The incident occurred when the passenger was travelling on Train No. 11312, Hassan–Solapur Express. During the journey, the gold chain was inadvertently dropped into the toilet commode of the coach. Despite immediate efforts by onboard staff, the ornament could not be traced at that time, leaving the passenger distressed.
Seeking assistance, the passenger registered a complaint through the Rail Madad portal in the early hours of February 6, 2026. Acting swiftly on the grievance, the railway officials initiated action upon the train’s arrival at Solapur station.
The passenger was counselled and reassured by railway officials. Subsequently, the Bio-Toilet maintenance team of the Carriage and Wagon wing of the Mechanical Department, in coordination with on-duty Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel, carefully retrieved the gold chain from the bio-toilet tank.
The recovered ornament was safely handed over to the passenger in the presence of RPF staff. The passenger expressed relief and appreciation for the prompt response and compassionate assistance provided by the railway personnel.
