Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday greeted Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat on his 75th birthday, describing him as a leader who has dedicated his life to “societal transformation and strengthening the spirit of harmony and fraternity.”

In a message on X, the Prime Minister said Bhagwat embodies the principle of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam, the world is one family, and prayed for his long and healthy life in the service of the nation. Modi also penned an op-ed reflecting on Bhagwat’s journey, noting his early work as a pracharak, his organisational responsibilities in Vidarbha, and his rise to becoming Sarsanghchalak.

He highlighted Bhagwat’s role in guiding the RSS through changing times, while preserving its core ideology, and recalled his outreach during periods such as the Emergency and the Covid-19 pandemic. Modi’s tribute comes as the RSS marks its centenary year.
