Telangana IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu on Wednesday (December 10,2025) inaugurated ‘Pathway to Taiwan’ career and study engagement programme at T-Works campus in Hyderabad and presided over the signing of an MoU, by the government-backed hardware prototyping facility and Talent Taiwan, for promoting talent exchange, skill development and higher-education collaboration.
He underscored the significance of youth enhancing skills required to secure jobs they aspire, the Minister’s office said in a release on the event. As part of the programme, which was inaugurated, firms from Taiwan, including Realtek and Logitech, conducted preliminary orientation and suitability interactions with students to assess potential alignment for future opportunities and briefed them on expectations for subsequent stages. Students from 20 Telangana engineering colleges participated in the first phase.
Candidates identified for the next stage of engagement will undergo six months of Mandarin language training in Hyderabad, after which further evaluation based on language proficiency and technical capability will determine progression toward employment opportunities. A total of eight Taiwan companies took part in this engagement and the Minister thanked them for choosing Telangana in their search for high-quality engineering talent.
Taiwan, with a population of 2.2 crore, is a global leader in chip manufacturing and technology, and emerged as a country on which the world depends. He encouraged the youth of Telangana to draw inspiration from Taiwan’s ability to anticipate global needs and build capabilities ahead of time.
Taiwanese universities — National Taiwan University (NTU), National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU), and National Taiwan University of Science and Technology (NTUST) — participated and showcased their engineering programmes. Their representatives highlighted that students joining undergraduate or postgraduate pathways would have enhanced opportunities in advanced manufacturing sectors. T-Works CEO Joginder Tanikella and Talent Taiwan Deputy CEO Eden Lien signed the MoU.
Rs.1.5 crore funding to T-Works
In the presence of the Minister, HDFC Bank executive V-P Venkatesh Challawar said the bank would extend ₹1.5 crore to T-Works Foundation under its Parivartan CSR fund. The support will be used as seed funding for startups working on environment-friendly product development and innovation.
