A near-en masse poll boycott, followed by a demand for repoll punctuated by a discriminatory demand and holding hostage polling machinery marked the polling day in K. Eachambadi village in Harur constituency on Thursday (April 23, 2026).

The Vanniyar village with over 900 voters boycotted the Assembly polls resisting the move to shift two high school sections to the neighbouring Scheduled Caste Colony in the same panchayat, where a government school building is being set up in a larger area.
