Veteran filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt turned nostalgic and emotional at the premiere of 'Tanvi The Great', directed by his longtime friend and protégé Anupam Kher. As reported by News 18, held on July 17, 2025, ahead of the film’s theatrical release, the special screening saw Bhatt recalling a defining moment from 41 years ago — when a young, hopeful Anupam Kher knocked on his door.
That meeting eventually led to Saaransh (1984), a film that became both a cinematic milestone and Anupam Kher’s unforgettable debut. “Who says the age of miracles is over? This boy knocked at my door 41 years ago... There was something my heart saw. The character we created in Saaransh, BV Pradhan, is this man today,” Mahesh Bhatt said. The film features debutante Shubhangi Dutt in the titular role. It also stars Jackie Shroff, Boman Irani, Pallavi Joshi, and Karan Tacker.
