When Gomez was spotted in Cabo San Lucas with a group of friends, speculation quickly grew that it was her bachelorette trip. Swift, however, wasn’t photographed on the yacht, raising questions about her absence.

Yet their friendship has always thrived outside of the spotlight.

As Gomez explained to WSJ. in 2020, “There’s so much of my friendship with Taylor that people don’t know about because we don’t necessarily feel the need to post about everything we do. She has showed up for me in ways that I would have never expected.” For both women, privacy is proof of authenticity, not distance.
