Tirupati: A sense of disgruntlement has prevailed in the aspirants for the Rajya Sabha berths from the Rayalaseema region as the TDP-Jana Sena combine have picked all their four nominees from other parts of the state, giving a raw deal to the Rayalaseema region. While the Jana Sena had declared industrialist Lingamaneni Ramesh as its RS nominee, the TDP declared Chinthakayala Vijay, Sana Satish and Bhashyam Ramakrishna as its RS nominees. All the four nominees of the TDP-Jana Sena belong to Guntur-Vijayawada-East Godavari and Coastal Andhra region of the state, leaving no scope for representation from the Rayalaseema region. The TDP leadership reached out to zonal coordinator Reddeppagari Srinivasa Reddy (Kadapa) and tried to pacify him as he pinned strong hopes on an RS berth and was a front runner from the Rayalaseema region. However, Srinivasa Reddy did not hide his displeasure over the manner in which the party leadership sidelined him after promising him a Rajya Sabha berth in the run-up to the 2024 general elections when the TDP leadership asked him to step down from contesting from the Kadapa Lok Sabha constituency.“In a politically sensitive district like Kadapa, I have stood by the TDP and worked tirelessly for the last 13 years with a sole determination to strengthen the party despite facing numerous political, financial and other kinds of pressures. It is painful that leaders who work selflessly for the party are not being rewarded for their loyalty and commitment. The party leadership not honouring its commitment of awarding me with a Rajya Sabha membership will be the most disappointing episode in my political career.
However, I will continue to work to the best of my ability for the party workers, for the people, and for the development of the region”, Srinivasa Reddy posted on his X handle.
