The Nellore Rural constituency, which has been in the news in recent days for the reorganisation of wards ahead of the local polls, has witnessed a surge in new entrants as several people joined the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) on Friday (June 19, 2026).

The party has been focusing on creating awareness among booth-level agents about the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process currently underway in the district.

MLA Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy, who organised an awareness meet on SIR along with his brother and TDP State spokesperson Kotamreddy Giridhar Reddy, was presented with a huge garland by the new entrants.

Buoyed by the sudden entry of the newcomers, the legislator vowed to live up to the expectations of the party cadre.

Later, party leader Koduru Kamalakar Reddy and cluster in-charge leaders took part in the two-year celebrations of the coalition government.
