Teacher booked for alleged corporal punishment

A 29-year-old homemaker and mother of a nine-year-old boy has filed a complaint against a teacher of a private school, alleging corporal punishment.

According to the complaint lodged by Pooja Pradeep, her son, studying in Class 2 at Nalanda Global Academy School, was allegedly assaulted by a teacher during school hours.

The incident reportedly occurred on March 2. The complainant stated that the teacher questioned the child regarding a Mathematics lesson. When he replied that he did not know the answer, the teacher allegedly slapped him on the cheeks, hit him with a wooden duster, and abused him verbally.

Following the incident, the child reportedly returned home frightened and informed his parents. Based on the complaint, the police have registered a case against the teacher and have initiated legal action for corporal punishment and harassment of a minor.
