Hubballi: To help labourers and other voters facing difficulties in filling Special Intensive Revision (SIR) forms, and to assist those who have not yet received the forms, the Hubballi-Dharwad Municipal Corporation (HDMC) has arranged additional support at polling stations in the Hubballi-Dharwad Central constituency over the weekend.HDMC commissioner Rudresh Ghali, who is also the electoral registration officer, has deployed teachers at all 266 polling stations in the constituency. Two teachers have been assigned to each booth to guide residents through the form-filling process. The teachers were asked to remain available on Saturday and Sunday to ensure voters could access assistance during the weekend.Officials said the initiative was aimed particularly at labourers, senior citizens and others who faced challenges in completing the forms independently.
Assistance is being provided to those struggling with documentation requirements or procedural aspects of the application process.Residents seeking help have been asked to carry the necessary documents. Teachers will assist them in filling out and submitting the forms, thereby reducing errors and speeding up the process. The weekend deployment is expected to handle higher footfall, as more residents are likely to visit polling stations on holidays. Officials said the arrangement would also benefit those who have not yet received SIR forms by providing guidance and support at their respective booths.“Teachers have already been trained in the SIR application process. To reach more people and provide effective assistance, we requested them to serve on Saturday and Sunday as well, and they readily agreed,” Ghali said.
