NEW DELHI: An Air India Boeing 787 Dreamliner (VT-ANI) operating as AI 133 from Bangaluru to London Heathrow on Monday was diverted to Jeddah following a technical issue. An AI spokesperson said the aircraft “made a precautionary enroute diversion to Jeddah following a suspected technical issue.
The aircraft landed safely at Jeddah Airport at 7.58 pm (IST), and all passengers and crew are confirmed safe.
”“The aircraft is currently undergoing comprehensive technical inspections in accordance with established safety protocols. While precautionary diversions are undertaken out of an abundance of caution and reflect our unwavering commitment to safety, we regret the inconvenience and disruption caused to our guests. Air India is coordinating closely with Jeddah Airport authorities and local agencies to ensure that all necessary assistance is provided to passengers and crew.
Their safety and well‑being remain our highest priority,” the spokesperson added.
