Telangana appoints Sanjay Jaju as next Chief Secretary

A 1992 batch IAS officer Sanjay Jaju is appointed as the next Chief Secretary of Telangana, succeeding K. Ramakrishna Rao — who is set to retire on June 30, 2026. The State government issued the orders on Friday (June 26, 2026). 

It has been speculated from the past few days that Mr. Jaju will be appointed to the top post. They became rife after the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet approved repatriation of Mr. Jaju, who was Secretary in the Ministry of Development of North East Region. The senior bureaucrat has over 15 years of Union Government service.
