Telangana chief minister Revanth Reddy exempted from court appearance in 2016 case

Hyderabad: Justice K Lakshman of the Telangana high court on Thursday dispensed with the appearance of chief minister A Revanth Reddy before the principal special kudicial first class magistrate for excise cases at Hyderabad.

This was in connection with a criminal case registered against him at OU police station, Hyderabad, in 2016 when he was MP from Malkajgiri.The judge, however, directed the chief minister to appear before the lower court as and when his presence is required, and adjourned the matter. The judge issued directions while hearing a petition filed by Revanth Reddy seeking to quash the case.The judge issued notices to the state govt and a sub-inspector of OU, on whose complaint the case was registered, directing them to file their response to the petition by the next date of hearing.
