HYDERABAD: Deputy chief minister Bhatti Vikramarka on Tuesday said the previous BRS govt skipped one crop season’s Rythu Bandhu disbursement, which the Congress govt cleared after coming to power.Addressing a press conference at Gandhi Bhavan, Bhatti slammed BRS for questioning BC caste survey, despite failing to conduct one during its 10-year rule. “When we conducted survey, BRS leaders refused to participate. Now, they are questioning its credibility,” he said.
He stressed that the Congress followed due process, passing cabinet and assembly resolutions before sending BC caste survey to the governor and Centre, underscoring the govt’s sincerity.Bhatti said the govt waived Rs 2 lakh crop loans, ensured 24-hour free power to farmers, disbursed Rs 9,000 crore under Rythu Bharosa, paid a Rs 500 bonus per quintal of fine paddy, extended crop insurance, compensated crop losses, and introduced Indiramma Aatmiya Bharosa for landless labourers. He announced Rs 9,000 crore under Rajiv Yuva Vikasam to support unemployed youth, offering up to Rs 4 lakh in financial aid for self-employment.
