The Telangana High Court on Thursday granted conditional bail to Bandi Sai Bageerath, son of Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar, in connection with a case registered under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
Bageerath was granted bail after 51 days in judicial custody at Cherlapally Central Prison following his arrest by the Cyberabad police on May 16.
The High Court directed him to execute a personal bond of ₹1 lakh with two sureties. It also ordered him to cooperate with the ongoing investigation, appear before the Petbasheerabad Station House Officer twice a week, refrain from influencing witnesses or tampering with evidence, and not leave Telangana without the court’s permission.
The case was registered on May 8 after the mother of a minor girl lodged a complaint alleging that her daughter had been sexually assaulted by the accused. Police said the investigation is continuing.
